Sorry for the late update from last weekends trip. We ended up with one bluefin and sixteen yellowtail. Slow on the bluefin front for us, we struggled with getting the proper gear in the water at the most opportune times. Please make sure you guys are brining your heavy gear on these next few trips. The majority of what we saw out there was 60-80 lbers and 100-150 lbers. Most of the action was in the dark and late afternoon. We saw some very nice schools that stuck around but dumped a few too many on the lighter tackle. We are recommending that you bring at least one 60 lb sinker rig setup as well as an 80+ rig for fishing heavy flatfalls and knife jigs in the dark, and when the captain says "fish the heavy gear only" don't put the 30 and 40 lb sinker rigs in the water!

A quick overnight charter to SCI after a great Colonet 1 1/2 trip for regular Scott Ducheme and family ended up with his daughter knocking out a trophy Halibut and is now hooked 4 Ever.

The Tribute returned from their 1.5 Day Baja Coast trip from Punta Colonet with 45 Lingcod, 141 Vermillon rockfish, 30 assorted rockfish, and 94 Whitefish for their 31 anglers. This Friday will be their last trip to Colonet before they return to fishing offshore.

Returned yesterday morning with with 133 reds, 20 lings, 86 whitefish, and 71 mixed bottom grabbers to finish out our Mexican limits for our 1.5 seeker sponsored baja coastal trip! Yellowtail fishing was slow this time around, with plenty of signs but only one taker. Ended up with 1 yellowtail, 72 lingcod, 102 red snapper, and 133 other mixed rockfish!

Tyler checking in from the Tribute out of San Diego with the latest. They saw a good sign of yellowtail this morning, but they didn't want to bite. They got one yellowtail on board and went to capitalize on some rockfish. So far, they've had caught some quality lingcod up to 17lbs. Check back in later for another update!

The Tribute crew called in a catch update of 14 Yellowtail up to 14 pounds on board and excellent bottom fishing on Day 1 of their 2.5 Day Baja Coast Trip. Captain Tyler reports excellent weather, good fishing current, and an excellent sign of Yellowtail & Rockfish. Dropping Yoyo-style jigs were the hot technique for catching these Yellowtail.
